Joel C. Karp is a founder of Karp & Langerman, P.C. and has been practicing law for over 46 years. His practice encompasses a range of disciplines, with an emphasis on corporate matters, trusts and estates and the tax considerations involved in those areas.

Mr. Karp advises companies on their day-to-day activities as well as negotiating and structuring corporate acquisitions and sales, and provides general corporate counsel services that include the drafting and review of all documents that arise on a daily basis in the corporate world. His extensive experience in this area allows him to help companies achieve the results they desire while keeping them advised on the tax aspects of any actions they may undertake.

Mr. Karp's trust and estate activities range from the creation of simples wills to complex estate planning, as well as the probate and administration of estates. He helps his clients attain their estate planning and charitable goals by advising them in the creation and administration of trusts and other estate planning instruments, with consideration given towards all relevant estate, gift and income tax considerations.

Mr. Karp was born in Stamford, Connecticut on April 9, 1940 and has resided in Connecticut since he began practicing law. He has been involved in numerous community endeavors for an extended period of time, including extensive work with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven and the St. Raphael Hospital Foundation of New Haven.
